In May 2009 I recorded the role of terminally ill teen Alex in Qualms, a play that is to be broadcast as part of the BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Play series. Written by Jonathan Myerson, Qualms looks at the effect that Alex’s disease has on his parents, and to what lengths they will go to try to change his prognosis.
I had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a fantastic cast, including Toby Jones (Amazing Grace, Frost/Nixon, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, W.) and Lesley Sharp (The Diary of Anne Frank, Doctor Who, Vera Drake). And to work with director Jonquil Panting, who I had the opportunity to meet during the BBC Carleton Hobbs Competition.
Qualms was broadcast on Thursday 25th June 2009 on BBC Radio 4, as part of the Afternoon Play series.
